DISAPPOINTMENT, KY. — In a shocking upset to the cul-de-sac social hierarchy, Gary “Perfect Lawn” Henderson, 43, completely dunked on his neighbors this Tuesday simply by retrieving his mail while wearing the official KaleCoAuto Check Engine Light Shirt.

Witnesses report that while other neighborhood dads were loading their kids into bloated SUVs that hadn’t seen an oil change since the 1990s, Henderson leaned against his mailbox, radiating the serene confidence of a man who has a modern, fashion-forward style sense.

“It was a power move,” said terrified neighbor Brad Gutherie, whose hands were covered in grease from a futile attempt to diagnose a transmission failure. “I was panic-scrolling through forums, and Gary just stood there, sipping coffee from his Mechanic Manifesto Mug. He didn’t offer help. He didn’t offer tools. He just pointed to the text on his mug and nodded solemnly.”

The dominance display appeared absolute until a lifted Subaru SVX rumbled into the driveway across the street, trailing a cloud of blue smoke. The driver, a newcomer named Steve, stepped out wearing the legendary Classic Blinker Fluid Shirt.

Onlookers held their breath, partially due to the malfunctioning catalytic converter, but mostly due to expecting yet another brutal astroturf war. Instead, Henderson and Steve locked eyes. Henderson pointed to his radiant yellow chest symbol; Steve pointed to his bottle of imaginary fluid.

“They didn’t say a word,” Gutherie reported, wiping tears from his eyes. “They just immediately started discussing whose car was a bigger sh*tbox. It was beautiful. I think they’re going to go troll Facebook Marketplace car listings together.”

At press time, the two men were seen drinking beer in the driveway, laughing at a Prius. The Prius owner could not be reached for comment.
